Early Life and Education

Adunni Ade is an American Nigerian actress and model born to her parents,  a German-American mother, and a Nigerian father from Lagos State,  Nigeria.

She was born on June 7, 1976, in Queens,  New York, so it wouldn’t be wrong to call her an American citizen by birth.

Aside from acting in Nollywood movies,  Adunni Ade also has a thing for modeling, which she also does alongside her major career as an actress.

Adunni was barely two years old when she and her parents returned to Nigeria to attend her grandfather’s funeral ceremony, and that was how she got raised in Lagos State,  Nigeria, with her younger sister, Mistura, who’s a makeup artist and a Pentecost University graduate from Ghana.

However, in her teens, she moved back to the States to complete her undergraduate studies.

But before that time, she had finished her primary and secondary school education in Opebi, Lagos State, and then in Bells Comprehensive Secondary School in Ota,  Ogun State, respectively.

In the United States, she enrolled at the University of Kentucky to study Accounting, where she earned a degree in the course.

Also, before returning to Nigeria,  Adunni provided living support for the State of Kentucky in the Housing sector and for the State of Maryland in the Medical Insurance department.

Let’s talk about Adunni Ade’s modeling career.  So many may not have known that the Nigerian actress also ventured into modeling even before she returned to Nigeria. As a model in the United States, Adunni was featured in America’s Next Top Model.

After she had completed her undergraduate education, she moved back to Nigeria and landed her first Nollywood role in the 2013 movie titled “You or I,” and from there, her acting career skyrocketed to what it is today.

In total, Adunni has featured in roughly more than 250 Nollywood movies both in English and Yoruba languages.

In 2021, Adunni Ade’s film production company, Lou-Ellen Clara Company Limited, entered the industry with their debut film “SOÓLÈ.”

Adunni Ade is a wife and mom. The Nigerian multi-talented actress is married to Mr. Michael Boyd, and together, both couples have two children.

The first child, named “D’Marion,” was born on September 26, 2007, and the second child, named “Ayden,” was born on May 2, 2011.
