Senator Abdul grew up in modest circumstances, working on his father’s farm from the age of five and walking tens of kilometers daily to fetch water for his family. Despite these humble beginnings, Ningi was determined to pursue an education. Career

Ningi’s political career began in 1996 when he contested for the Bauchi state assembly under the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP). Although he won, the election was cancelled by the Abacha-led government. With the return to civilian rule in 1999, Ningi contested under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and won by a landslide to represent Ningi Federal constituency. He served as a member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2011, during which he held several key positions including House Majority Leader from 2003 to 2007.
