See Four Shocking Things That Happened During Grammy Awards Celebration

The events that occurred at the 66th Grammy Awards Ceremony which was held on February 4th, 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena left many in shock.

See four shocking things that happened during Grammy Awards celebration below;

1. Nigerian artist, and DMW Record Label Boss, Davido loses all three Grammy Nominations.

The nominations include,

  • Best Global Album for his latest album, “Timeless.”
  • Best African Performance for his song “Unavailable”
  • Best Global Music Performance for his song “Feel.”

This was the first time Davido has been nominated for three Grammy Awards.

Responding on his Twitter page, Davido said: “3 nominations at the Grammys!! Delay is not Denial!! 🏆🌎”

2. Nigerian Singer, Burna Boy loses 4 Grammys Nomination.

Burna Boy who is also a one time Grammy Award winner was nominated for the following categories:

  • Best Global Music Album (“I Told Them…”)
  • Best African Music Performance (“City Boys”)
  • Best Global Music Performance (“Alone”)
  • Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Sittin’ On Top Of The World”).

3. Celine Dion Presents Award To Taylor Swift.

Celine Dion who was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome presented American singer, Taylor Swift with the Album of the Year award for her award, Midnights, she received standing ovations from her followers and loves.

She began her address by saying, “Thank you all… I love you right back… When I say that I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart”.

“Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.”

“And now it gives me great joy to present a Grammy Award that two legends Diana Ross and Sting presented to me 27 years ago. These are the outstanding nominees for album of the year.”

4. Fela Kuti’s “Water” played instead of Tyla’s “Water”.

South African singer, Tyla won the Best African Music Performance category after surpassing tracks by Nigerian artists such as Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush.’

However, in a shocking twist, Fela’s timeless classic, ‘Water No Get Enemy,’ was played instead of Tyla’s sexually-themed mid-tempo track.
